This is a very simple chocolate pudding recipe. Nothing special, but done in 10 minutes.
Ingredients
- 500g milk (soy milk for vegan version)
- 50-200g dark chocolate
- 20g cornstarch (ca. 2 tbsp)
- 5g dark cocoa powder (ca. one flat tbsp)
- pinch of salt
- pinch of cinnamon
Instructions
The more chocolate you use, the better the more intense the pudding will be. Using only 50g will give you more of a standard flavor, while going with 200 will give you a way more intense flavor and heavy mouth feel. Note that 200g only works fine if you go with dark chocolate, otherwise the pudding will be way too sweet.
Mix 50g of the milk (ca 10 tbsp) with the cornstarch and the cocoa powder. Chop the chocolate and put it in a pot together with the rest of the milk. Stir until the mixture comes to a boil. Remove the pot from the stove (important!) and stir in the cornstarch mixture. Put the pot back and heat under constant stirring until it starts to boil. Remove the pot from the stove and stir for 1 more minute. This will allow to let the pot cool down a bit. Otherwise the pudding might burn during pouring.
Pour the pudding in a cold vessel. Put jam or fruits below if wanted.
Tips
The quality of the chocolate defines the pudding. Don’t skip out and get the cheapest one!
