After all these years blogging I have not made brownies once. And I suppose the reason is that I just dont like them a lot. The recipe is good, though I just value other desserts more.

Ingredients

  • 200g baking chocolate
  • 100g butter
  • 200g selfmade vanilla sugar
  • 100g brown sugar
  • 60g cake flour
  • 30g cocoa powder (1/4 cup)
  • 3 eggs
  • 0.25tsp salt

Instructions

Start by preparing a baking for with baking paper.

Actually, start by checking if the pan you want to prepare actually fits your oven.. :)

In case you are using a glass or otherwise heavy one you might want to preheat it.

Chop the chocolate and place it in a bowl. Add the butter. Get a pot with a bit of water and bring it to a simmer. Top it with the bowl but ensure that the bowl does not touch the water. Slowly melt the chocolate.

In the meanwhile mix the sugar eggs and salt. Once the chocolate is melted add it as well. Last but not least sieve in the cocoa powder and flour. Fold that in gently.

Fill the mass into the prepared baking form

Bake at 175 degrees for about 30-35 minutes. Let it cool down at least 15 minutes before getting it out of the form and cutting it.

If you want good cuts let it fully cool down. Rinse a knife with hot water, dry it and cut the browny once. Clean the blade, rinse it with hot water dry it and make the next cut and so on.

Next Time…

  • use either a thin baking form or preheat the heavy one. A non preheated glass form left the downside super sticky, no crust formed.
