Another very simple recipe that uses the caramelized condensed milk. The base recipe is solid though it would benefit from some additional flavor kicks to be outstanding.
Ingredients
- 120g caramelized condensed milk
- 50-60g cocoa
- some extra cocoa powder to dust
Instructions
Sieve the cocoa powder and mix it with the caramelized condensed milk. Let it rest covered in the fridge for 2 hours.
Now form the truffles to any shape you like and roll them in cocoa powder. Note: The last batch of caramelized condensed milk was a bit more liquid than usual. It required a bit more cocoa to get a good consistency (60g).
Variants
Sweeter Variant
For a sweeter variant I would suggest:
- 120g caramelized condensed milk
- 55g cocoa
- 5g powdered sugar
I tried 50g cocoa and 10g sugar, though for my taste, this was too sweet.
Spicy Variant
Chili and chocolate are an amazing combination. You can add fine chili powder you want to the base recipe. I tried to add some self made hot sauce as I did not have fine chili powder at hand and was too lazy to grind some.
- 120g caramelized condensed milk
- 60g cocoa
- 1/4 tsp fermented hot sauce
Next Time
This recipe is very basic. It tastes great though would highly benefit from some extra touches, such as caramelized almonds (as shown in the caramelized almond chocolate recipe but crushed more finely), or some other flavor kick such as a dash of cinnamon and cardamon.
If they are too soft, just freeze them and serve ice cold.
