Rice Meat

Fast and easy dish that you can make with rice or kritharaki

Ingredients

  • 300g pork meat
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • big onion (cubed)
  • 400g water/soup
  • 100g white wine
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • dash of chili
  • 1.5 tbsp red pepper powder
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tbsp oregano
  • 1 tbsp parsley
  • 1/2 tsp crushed carraway
  • 200g kritharaki (original would be rice)

Instructions

Fry the meat in the oil. Once it got some color, add cubed onion, spices and then the water/soup and wine. Let that simmer for about 15 minutes to ensure the meat will be tender in the end. Add the kritharaki/rice and let it simmer until fully cooked. Add some water later on in case its neccessary.

Tips

  • Let the meat cook for 15 minutes before adding the rice. That way the meat will bf soft and the rice not over cooked at the end.
  • Add more water later on if needed, do not start with too much or you will end up with soup.
  • With kritharaki a bit more wine instead of water is fine.
  • With rice 550g water is required.
