Fast and easy dish that you can make with rice or kritharaki
Ingredients
- 300g pork meat
- 2 tbsp oil
- big onion (cubed)
- 400g water/soup
- 100g white wine
- salt and pepper to taste
- dash of chili
- 1.5 tbsp red pepper powder
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 1 tbsp oregano
- 1 tbsp parsley
- 1/2 tsp crushed carraway
- 200g kritharaki (original would be rice)
Instructions
Fry the meat in the oil. Once it got some color, add cubed onion, spices and then the water/soup and wine. Let that simmer for about 15 minutes to ensure the meat will be tender in the end. Add the kritharaki/rice and let it simmer until fully cooked. Add some water later on in case its neccessary.
Tips
- Let the meat cook for 15 minutes before adding the rice. That way the meat will bf soft and the rice not over cooked at the end.
- Add more water later on if needed, do not start with too much or you will end up with soup.
- With kritharaki a bit more wine instead of water is fine.
- With rice 550g water is required.
