I finally managed to bake great kebap bread. Now its time to figure out the other parts. This current recipe is already pretty good, though the bar for kebap is pretty high, so there is still room for experiments.

Ingredients

  • kebap bread
  • 1 chicken brest (equals two portions)
  • green salad
  • onion slices
  • red cabbage
  • chili powder (optional)
  • salt

Usually doener meat is pretty fat, so chicken thighs would be the better options. Though I have different plans for those so I used chicken breast instead. Basically, use whatever meat you have at hand. Don’t be too picky.

In general you can fill this sandwich with various things. As you can see in the picture I did not have red cabbage when I took the picture so I used some other type of salad, just for the color.

Kebap Spice Mix v1

  • 1g sweet paprika powder
  • 1g coriander seeds
  • 1g cumin seeds
  • 1/2g garlic powder

Note: use less garlic powder next time!. Maybe add some chili.

White Sauce

  • 125g yogurt
  • good pinch salt
  • good pinch sugar
  • garlic clove

Note: you can use sour cream instead of yogurt for a more intense flavor.

Instructions

Slice the chicken breast into pieces. Marinade it with 1tbsp kebap spice mix and a 1/4tsp of salt. Afterward fry it in a pan with some oil.

Cut the onion, red cabbage and salad into thin slices.

Mix together all ingredients of the white sauce.

Fill the bread.

If you like it spicy ad some chili powder.
