This is a super fast dish that has restaurant quality for sure. Super easy and super fast to prepare.
Ingredients
Meat:
- 2 beef cutlet very fine cut or coarsely minced beef
- 2tsp corn starch
- 2tsp sesame oil
- 2tsp soj sauce
Sauce:
- 2tbsp soj sauce
- 2tbsp oyster sauce
- 10tbsp water
- 1/2 tbsp salt
- 1/2 tbsp fresh ground pepper
Vegetables:
- 2 red paprika
- 200g full sugarpeas
- sprout mix
- 2 onions
Sides:
- rice noodles or rice
Wok:
- 2-3 tbsp oil for stir frying
Instructions
Cut the meat and marinade it. Prepare the sauce and cut all vegetable.
Oil the wok and let it heat up (best use heat resistant oil like avocado oil). Spread the oil well over the whole surface. Heat the oil until it is smoking hot (literally). Add the meat and stir fry it for about half a minute. Remove the meat and add the vegetables. Still on high heat let it fry for a bit. Stir heavily so the rest of the meat cannot burn. After a minute add the sauce. Let this heat up for a minute, add the meat and let it simmer for half a minute. Add the noodles and serve.
Tips
- Its important that you do not cook the meat for too long. High heat is key during stir frying.
- Reducing the water in the sauce and adding more oil in the wok will make it more restaurant style. Not necessary but if you do want a typical asia takeout feeling, this might be the way to go
- If you can work with high heat fine cut beef works great. If you cannot work with very high heats (or don’t want to) you can also use coarsely minced beef instead and you will still end up with a tender meat.
Vegetables
There are a lot of vegetables that work great with this dish. I tried quite a lot of variations and most of them work. Just play around what you have left in the fridge. You dont need exactly the listed ingredients, the following alternatives also worked great.
Vegetables alternative 1:
- 1 red paprika
- 1 fennel
- 2 spring onions
Vegetables alternative 2:
- 2 carrots
- 2 spring onions
- sprout mix
