This creamy curry is perfect in combination with udon noodles. Note that this recipe is still work in progress. It is a solid base though it does lack character.
Ingredients
- 200g beef
- 200g onion
- 30g butter
- 2tbsp curry
- 250g milk
- 250g sweet cream
- 1-2 thai chillies
- salt to taste
- udon noodles (from 300g flour)
Instructions
Slice the onion and let it fry in the butter until golden. Cut the beef in bit sized pieces and add them to the onions. Once the outside of the meat has colour add the curry powder as well as the cut chillies and let it fry for a minute. Add the milk and sweet cream. Bring it to a boil, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 20 minutes.
If you make the udon noodles yourself, this would be the time to cut and cook them. Sieve the noodles and shortly rinse them with cold water. Then mix them together with the curry.

The base recipe is fine, though it lacks character. I think cardamon would work well in this dish. Maybe stay away from cinnamon and cloves.
Do not use sweet paprika powder for this recipe. I used 1/2 tsp and it did not work that great. Rather use curcuma for colour. Altered recipe.
