Cereal V2

This version simplifies the process of making cereal while making it a bit more fancy.

Ingredients

  • 500g oat flakes
  • 200g almonds
  • 50g coconut oil
  • 50g hulled, roasted hazelnuts
  • 50g coco flakes
  • 30g cacao nibs

Instructions

Crush the almonds. I like to have some bigger pices and there blend them for a few pulses in my blender. Melt the coconut oil and mix it with the almonds. Now add the oat flakes.

If you have hulled roasted hazelnuts cursh them. Personally I use already crushed roasted hazelnuts that have very little skin in. If they are roasted, do not add to the mix just now. If they are not crush them and add them to the mix.

Put the batch on a baking tray and roast them for 8 minutes. Stir them and let them roast for another 8 minutes. Add the other ingredients after that.

Let the cereal fully cool down before storing them.

Tips

  • cocoa flakes get burned super fast. Id rather add them after roasting
  • cocoa nibs can be roasted, though their flavor gets very, very intense doing so. For me this is fine from time to time, but not for a every day cereal. Rather add them after roasting, or roast and store them seperatly and add them to your cereal whenever you feel like it.
  • if you are not sure about the cocoa nibs in every single breakfast maybe skip them and just add them into the mix on days where you want them
